Traveling to Hawaii Vlog and Commentary

Alright, onto the Hawaiian vlogs!
First time ever going to Hawaii. 2001.
Ok this vlog I'm about to share with you is by far my favorite video I've made so far. I just love how it came together. Only part I don't like is the ending. I think it ends abruptly, it's not very conclusiony like my other vlogs. However, I like it so much better than my other vlogs for the following reasons.

New PDX carpet. Hmm...
  1. I filmed way more footage than I actually used like Drew (my brother) advised, giving me lots of footage to quickly piece together.
  2. I love starting off the vlog with the time and saying something about "the butt-crack of dawn". I think that's going to be a trademark of mine.
  3. Love the shots of the PDX carpet and lack thereof.
  4. I also love that vlogging in the airport, like me talking to the camera, came much easier that time than it did in Paris or London.
  5. I love the shots out the window of taking off in Portland and landing in Hawaii. Something I've always wanted to do in a vlog.
  6. I also like how it's freezing in the car in Salem and then super hot in the car in Hawaii.
  7. Also, my family is hilarious. I love all the quotes from my dad in this video.
One of the coolest things about vlogging is seeing something that took hours shortened down to just a couple of minutes.

By the way, that bowl of eggs and sausages my dad got on the flight was delicious! Highly recommend it if its on your flight!

Paris Restaurant Vlog and Commentary

After making this video I've discovered how much I love filming food. My Canon Power Shot S120 makes food look just as delicious and beautiful as it really is, which is amazing!

I shot this video the same day as going to the Lourve and up the Eiffel Tower. At first I wanted to make one long video of everything I did that day, but I quickly discovered after editing the Lourve footage that it'd be best to separate the activities into three different videos, so that's what I did. I love how simple this video is. It's only 39 seconds! Also, the music makes it fun to watch! Mike's comment at the end is hilarious too because it's true, you come out of that place stuffed with pure deliciousness!

I've been to Paris twice now and each time my mom has taken me to this incredible restaurant le Relais de l'Entrecote that only serves salad, mouth-watering steak with a tangy green sauce, french fries, and desserts. The line going in can be awfully long sometimes, but it's so worth the wait. I highly recommend this restaurant during your trip in Paris!

Paris Cemetery Vlog and Commentary

I've been doing quite a bit of traveling lately and have been focusing more on editing these videos that end up taking like 900 minutes to upload onto YouTube because for some reason the internet connection is poor out here in South Salem.

This next video is one I made in the Paris Cemetery, one of my favorite cemeteries ever. Like I mentioned in the video, I love going to cemeteries for the art and history. I love reading unusual names and imagining what the lives of these people were like.

This video actually took quite a long time to edit because I had a lot of footage to sort through. Unfortunately in order to make this video reasonably short I couldn't use all the clips I took, so it was difficult at first deciding which clips could stay and which had to go. However, once you're sick of editing making these decisions isn't that hard anymore. It's good to learn how to be objective when editing.

Earlier in this video I talk about how I wished I could have shot some stuff from the metro, but like I said earlier it was a little too chaotic. Sometimes not getting those shots really eats me up inside, but I've slowly learned to let things go. To just go with the flow and not stress so much over nothing because goodness Amanda is it really that big of a deal? No. The answer is no.

At about 1:20 I talk about how my back was really hurting. I was actually in some serious pain that day and I felt like vlogging about it. I can't help from cringing/laughing at the part when I talk about how you shouldn't let pain stop you from going on adventures because it came out super cheesy and that obviously wasn't my intention.

This definitely isn't my favorite video I made for a couple reasons: 1.) I don't like the flow of it 2.) I'm not very energetic, but that's because I was aching and 3.) I wish I could have shown you more of the cemetery, but it's HUGE.

Well, nevertheless I still like that I made it because it truly is one of my favorite cemeteries and I enjoy the memory of going there!
